At conVerge, we believe the real, authentic Christian life is all about a mission. The God of the Universe created human beings, and in our sin we have turned away from Him. Because of His gracious love, God the Son became a man, living, dying, and resurrecting to defeat our sin so that we could be reconciled to God, knowing and worshiping Him forever. This is the Christian Gospel, and it is also the beginning of the Christian life of mission.
When Jesus came to earth he preached a message of redemption for the whole world, a message that carries on to this day. Jesus was on a mission to seek and to save the lost, and in His final words to His followers, He said that we are to be on that same mission.
For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost. Luke 19:10; Jesus
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20; Jesus
If you do not know Jesus or have not yet accepted the Gospel message in your life, then you are the mission of conVerge church. God loves you and we want you to know His love in a real, tangible way through us. In Jesus we have experienced a hope and a peace that surpasses all understanding, and we genuinely want you to experience the same thing.
If you know Jesus, then at conVerge we want you to understand that you are already on a mission, whether youre doing a very good job of it or not. The most important thing to all Christ-followers should be to use their lives, in the best way they know how, to accomplish Jesus mission while they are here on earth. It is the purpose and desire of conVerge church to help define that mission in your life, to encourage you to complete it, and to help you develop a strategic plan to do so.
conVerge Mission Statement
conVerge exists to connect people to God through the hope that is found in His son, Jesus Christ, and to teach them to follow a strategic plan to use their lives to accomplish Jesus' mission to the world.
If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? Mark 8:34-36; Jesus
