The final step in forming a plan is moving with God. This step looks different for each person, but at conVerge we believe that at times in each of our lives, God calls us to move with Him to accomplish Jesus’ mission.

It is in these times that we are pulled out of our comfort zone and begin to experience a life where God’s dreams truly are our dreams, and where we can express in a tangible way our commitment to following Jesus above all else. You see, we can remember to be on mission and experience a supportive church community, we can know that all people matter, and we can even start living very differently, all from the comfort of our own little lives. We can do all these things and truly be much better Christians, even much better people then we are now. But are we sold out to the mission of Jesus? God is too big for our lives to contain Him. We cannot expect to simply fit God into our own plans. God has so much more for us than we could ever imagine. This does not mean that we need to abandon career goals or other dreams. What it does mean is that accomplishing Jesus’ mission with our lives needs to be our top priority, so much so that we are willing to rearrange other aspects of our lives in order to see that happen.

We are convinced that every believer is asked by God at one time or another to not only make adjustments to the life we have created (though this is where the process begins), but instead to make a significant realignment of our life, moving from where we are now to a new place where God wants to work through us. This will mean different things for different people. For some it will mean a change in careers to be more available for the mission. For some it will mean a realignment of life priorities that completely restructures what we spend our time doing. For many, this will mean an actual physical move to a new place, because God has called us to do the mission of Jesus there.

The important thing is that we must be so committed to the mission of Jesus, that when God speaks and tells us to move, we trust Him enough to do so. God is going to ask you to move with Him. Will you be ready?

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? For what can a man give in return for his life?” Mark 8:34-37; Jesus
